Polyimides

Polymides Our Durimide® polyimides are specialty coatings used as a protective layer or "buffer coat" before packaging.

Stress Relief / Buffer Coatings

The Probimide® tradename has been replaced by Durimide® but we will still offer the fastest photospeed, highest resolution and widest process window available in photosensitive polyimides.

The keys to our success are :

  • High photospeed - higher throughput and higher equipment capacity
  • High resolution - 7µm in 15µm softbake, makes process easier
  • Big process window - ensures a very comfortable process to work with
  • Thickfilm performance - up to 300µm, makes process easier

What are Buffer Coats?

Buffer coats provide protection to finished die during backgrind, singulation, and assembly processing resulting in improved packaged yields and increased reliability lifetime performance.

Features and benefits:

  • Engineered for stress relief applications
  • i-line / g-line sensitive polyamic esters
  • Compatible with all exposure tools
  • High photospeed
  • Less than 200 mJ/cm2 on g-line stepper @ 15 micron SBFT
  • Superior resolution - aspect ratio up to 3.0
  • Self priming - excellent adhesion
  • Superior property retention after PCT (Pressure Cooker Test)
  • Cured film thickness range up to 50 micron
  • High process throughput lowers cost of ownership
